We are thrilled to announce our third annual Western Agile un-conference! This year we are in Victoria in Beautiful British Columbia. Come share your ideas, challenges, aha moments, laughable moments, and experiments.
Looking for the Agile Coach Camp Canada West? This is it. We just changed the name to Agile Open Canada. This reflects feedback from the past two events, coupled with an effort to make the event more open to agile practitioners and enthusiasts alike.
Looking for our sister event, the Agile Coach Camp Canada East? Follow this link.
We will be in Ambrosia Catering Centre (map link). The space opens 5pm Thursday evening, and closes Friday 5pm. Read the detailed schedule. The ticket includes supper Thursday evening, and lunch, coffee and snacks Friday. Early bird pricing currently in effect for $95 CAD until April 30, 2017. From May 1 to May 10, the regular event ticket is $125 CAD.
Here is what some of last year’s participants thought of the event
“A place and time to truly connect with other coaches and share the experience of coaching teams and organizations.”
“Agile Open is not about what we want it to be, it is about what you want it to be! Join us and shape it for you!”
We keep an Open Space
Open Space Technology (wiki link) is at the heart of the Open Agile Canada event. The approach is the best we have found that allows for everyone to share stories, questions, and to listen and learn from fellow agile practitioners. There are no key-note speakers, and no pre-defined agenda. The Open Space adheres to one law, and five simple principles.
One Law: Law of Two Feet
If at any time during our time together you find yourself in any situation where you are neither learning nor contributing, use your two feet, go someplace else.
Whoever comes are the right people
Whenever it starts is the right time
Wherever it is, is the right place
Whatever happens is the only thing that could have happened.
When it’s over, it’s over
Why YOU should attend
Grow as an Agile Practitioner
Come prepared to share your ideas (the great ones and the crazy ones), challenges, lessons learned, laughable moments, and experiments! During the Agile Open you learn, teach, engage, listen and laugh. Connect with agile practitioners that share your passion for doing things better. You leave energized with new ideas and an excitement to put them into practice. Guaranteed!
Using an Open Space format, we the participants shape the un-conference through information sharing and networking. Agile Open Canada offers a friendly, enthusiastic and safe environment. We encourage diversity in people, ideas, opinions, and points of view. Regardless of where you are in your agile journey, you are welcome to share and learn from beginners to experts alike. We value connections, and we value ideas. We believe strong network connections allow us to accomplish much more than we would be able to otherwise. If you are a regular attendee or just passing through, expect to feel connected. At the Agile Open event, you meet friends, mentors, change agents, and people who may be at the same stage as you in your journey. Have focused conversations with large groups, small groups or one-on-one. Network, chat, and have fun.
We play. We smile. We laugh. Play enables people to tap joyously into our creativity and be more innovative. Come prepared to share your latest ideas, challenges, lessons learned, laughable moments, and experiments. Passion is contagious!
Agile Open Canada is organized by agile enthusiasts for agile enthusiasts. Each year a group of agile practitioners from Western Canada volunteer our time to organize an Agile Open event. Registration fees are purposefully kept low to keep the event open to everyone. Excess funds are utilized to seed the next year’s Agile Open Canada.
Come join us. It is going to be awesome!
